Special Event

2019 Garrett Brisbane Jamboree

For those of you who attended the 2019 Garrett Sydney Jamboree at Sydney Dragway, you have a fair idea about what to expect at the Brisbane event on August 24-25, except things are going to be even bigger and better as Jamboree returns to its birthplace of Queensland’s Willowbank Raceway, Ipswich. If Ben-Hur were able to strap a Garrett Turbo to his chariot, he would be there, that’s how big this event is going to be.

If you haven’t been to an event like the Garrett Jamboree before, do yourself a favour and spend at least one day at the event on August 24-25, at Willowbank Raceway. It’s a pretty amazing experience. You have full access to walk around the pit area where mechanics and pit crew and drivers are all working on cars to get the last minute tunning dialled in, you get to rub shoulders with these guys and girls and experience the excitement that is raceday. When the engines are started and the racing begins you don’t just watch the racing, you feel it in your chest and you can’t help but get caught up in the speed and excitement.

With event sponsors in place like Garrett Advancing Motion, Link ECU, Tuners Edge and Hi-Tech Oils Australia, this event is in great hands to continue to grow even though it is already the greatest sports compact racing show on earth! To give you an idea of what’s on offer, apart from the over 200 entries into the various drag racing categories, which include: Precision Turbo Factory Xtreme; McKern and Associates Pro Compact; Bosch Motorsport Pro Turbo; Fuel Tech USA IHRA PRO Mod; RCE Performance Warehouse J275/315; NAPA Auto Superstore Modified Compact; Hurstville Towing Street 289, Power Seals Modified 10.5; and MTQ Street Compact. As well as two days of drag racing, which will see qualifying start from 9am on Saturday, then from 5pm to 8.30pm on Saturday evening, the Special Professional

Categories Qualifying Show and Entertainment package will unfold. Then on Sunday morning racing will continue from 9am to finals at approximately 4.30pm.

Also included over the weekend will be the Hi-Tech Drift Australia Drift Exhibition (which was a huge hit with the crowds in Sydney), the Shannon’s Show n Shine, Babe and Bikini Competitions and a massive trade alley.

Sydney event was the number of families that came to watch the action with the Mrs and the kids. Just don’t forget the ear muffs! Brissie will be much the same with rides and heaps of close up pit action for the kids. It’s a great day out for the whole family.

Feature events include the PWR Cash Boost during qualifying for Precision Turbo Factory Xtreme, McKerns Pro Compact and Bosch Motorsport Pro Turbo, also the Castrol Edge Workshop Challenge during racing on Sunday.

The good news is, it’s not too late to enter any of the racing or other competitions on August 24-25, so if you are up to the challenge we have included the details below for entry, and if you just feel like a great weekend of Drag Racing awesomeness, put the dates into your calendar now.
