Defending Repco Supercars Champion Will Brown has taken the provisional points lead after securing victory in Saturday’s third race at the MSS Security Melbourne SuperSprint.
Brown earned 75 points for his race win, along with a five-point bonus for setting the fastest lap, allowing him to surpass Cam Waters, who finished ninth. As a result, Waters, who had led the standings through the first six races of 2025, now trails the Red Bull Ampol Camaro #1 driver by six points.
However, this point difference may change if post-race investigations of several incidents impact Waters’ final position. Completing the podium alongside Brown was his Red Bull Ampol Racing teammate Broc Feeney, who started on pole for the third consecutive race, while Nick Percat from Matt Stone Racing claimed third place after facing engine issues late in the race but managing to fend off a hard-charging Brodie Kostecki in the Shell Ford Mustang.

This marks Brown’s first victory of the 2025 season and his 11th career race win, following his title win last year. “It feels really good to get another podium here in front of this massive crowd; it’s amazing,” said Brown. “I started off second and wanted to get a jump, which we managed to do, allowing us to control the race from there.
“It was a very fast pace; with the Safety Cars, everyone was going flat out, and it was hot out there. We were unsure how the tires would hold up, but we ultimately brought it home in first.”
The race featured multiple incidents that stewards will examine post-race, involving eight drivers in total. Notably, Chaz Mostert finished seventh, ahead of Waters, and his collision with James Golding, which sent Golding into the gravel, could affect the points standings.
The Sunday Supercars race was abandoned due to heavy rainfall in Melbourne.
