The Amarok ute will once again play a critical behind-the-scenes role, with Volkswagen Australia confirming the continuation of its partnership with the Repco Supercars Championship for the 2026 season.
The Amarok Style V6 returns as the Official Recovery Ute, entrusted with some of the most demanding rescue duties in Australian motorsport.
Trusted when it matters most
After multiple seasons extracting stranded race cars from gravel traps and navigating challenging circuit terrain, Volkswagen described the renewal as an easy decision.
The Amarok’s proven durability and on-track capability cemented its place in Supercars’ most critical support role. “Tough feels better in an Amarok and nowhere is that more evident than trackside at Supercars events,” said Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Australia Brand Director Nathan Johnson.
“The Volkswagen Amarok has already shown it can reliably pull 1,350kg Supercars out of gravel traps, navigate sand, mud and uneven terrain, and get recovery crews where they need to be, fast. We’re proud to continue providing a vehicle trusted by professionals at the highest level of motorsport.”
