Bendix announces the release of highly engineered commercial vehicle Brake S-Camshafts.
The FMP Group (Australia) Pty Ltd has launched the Bendix range of highly engineered commercial vehicle Brake S- Camshafts for bus, truck and trailer axles.
Forged in high quality carbon steel to meet SAE 1045 standard and heat treat hardened at all critical contact points to increase reliability, wear life and corrosion resistance, the new S-Camshafts are precision machined for an exact fit, easy replacement and improved wear life.
The range is extensive covering 10, 28 and 37 spline, camshaft lengths and head sizes and to assist in identifying to correct brake S-Camshaft a special Bendix application guide has been produced. This covers a comprehensive listing covering the head end, journal length, application, axle manufacturer, brake type and a cross reference guide to OE part numbers as well as an identification guide with measurements to select the perfect replacement.
The Bendix ‘Protrans Commercial Vehicle Brake S-Camshaft catalogue also provides a guide to installation when replacing the camshaft on a truck, tractor or trailer with advice on other components that may require replacement to eliminate excessive camshaft deflection which can cause early failure or cause the brakes to perform incorrectly.
There is also a guide on what to look for when replacing a camshaft such as radial play, worn bushings and camshaft journal, broken or twisted splines, wear such a flat spots, burnelling and worn or undersized roller pins.
