Blanchard Racing Team (BRT) has confirmed an expanded Super2 programme for the 2026 season, with Lochie Dalton joining the team and Bailey Sweeny returning after a solid rookie campaign in 2025.
The expanded line-up reflects BRT’s continued focus on driver development and progression within Australian motorsport, strengthening pathways toward the Supercars Championship.
“Creating opportunity for young drivers”
BRT Team Principal and co-owner Tim Blanchard said the expansion was about building long-term capability within the team and the category.
“Expanding our Super2 programme is an important step for us and for the broader driver pathway in Australian motorsport. It’s about creating opportunity and providing the right environment for young drivers to develop.
“Lochie’s results through the 2025 season showed real pace and talent, while Bailey’s progress in his rookie year laid a strong foundation to build from. Our focus is on development and performance, and on giving drivers the tools they need to take that next step toward Supercars.”
Dalton joins after runner-up Super2 season
Dalton joins BRT following a standout 2025 Super2 campaign, where he finished runner-up in the championship, secured the Pole Position Award and recorded multiple race wins. He also set a Super2 lap record at Mount Panorama.

“I didn’t want to come back just to make up the numbers. There’s definitely some unfinished business for me, and I’m coming in with that clear focus,” Dalton said.
“The team has shown they’re building something strong, and I feel like this is the right place for me to push for the championship again.”
Dalton will contest the 2026 season in car #43.
Sweeny returns after consistent rookie year
Bailey Sweeny will return to BRT after completing his first Super2 season in 2025, where he demonstrated consistency and steady improvement across the year.
“We built a good foundation last season and I learnt a lot, so I’m ready to come back and see what we can achieve,” Sweeny said. “Continuing with the team gives me real confidence heading into the new year, and I’m looking forward to having Lochie alongside me as both a teammate and a benchmark.”
Sweeny will again drive car #33 as BRT fields a two-car Super2 line-up for 2026.
