On Friday August 31, all 170 Burson Auto Parts stores across Australia were united for one cause – to support the farmers of Australia.
Every member of the national Burson Auto Parts staff team was encouraged to dress like a farmer for this special day to help collect donations for Australia’s farmers.
This national event sent a clear reminder to our farmers that the Australian owned Burson Auto Parts’ family recognises and respects the invaluable contribution that they make to this country’s health and prosperity. The event also displayed that Australia’s farmers are not alone during this time of immense financial and emotional difficulty, as one of the worst droughts to affect Eastern and Southern Australia has developed.
Across the country, Burson Auto Parts delivery drivers collected donations during their rounds throughout the day and collection boxes were placed on all store counters nationwide, with parent company Bapcor Limited donating $25,000.
The Burson Auto Parts Dress as a Farmer Day effort on August 31 raised a total of $74,075 reflecting the generosity of the Australian company’s automotive aftermarket industry customers, who drove this support initiative strongly. Burson Auto Parts trade customers had selflessly donated more than $49,000 by the close of business on this very special day.
It was also a day of fun for the entire Burson Auto Parts team, with many imaginative farmer outfits or Country and Western items of clothing worn. This saw many hilarious images uploaded to social media prior to and during the day, assisting to quickly spread the message far and wide to give generously on Burson Auto Parts’ Dress Like a Farmer Day.
According to Burson Auto Parts Executive General Manager, Craig Magill, this was a great day for the company and its staff.
“As an Australian company, we felt that we needed to do something that was rapid and effective to assist our nation’s farmers. They didn’t ask us for anything, but we wanted to do something to help them given the severity of this drought,” Craig said.
“While many of our team members looked both hilarious and ridiculous on August 31, they really got into the spirit of this nationwide event by dressing as farmers, raising great attention to the cause. Burson Auto Parts, supported by our highly valued trade customers proved to be very generous with their donations,” he added.
