Kia Australia has introduced the K4, a fresh name that establishes a bold benchmark in its passenger car lineup for 2025.

As Kia shifts to the global naming convention for its small passenger cars, the K4 embodies the brand’s commitment to innovation and affordability. Measuring longer, wider, and lower than the outgoing Cerato, the K4 utilizes a new platform that promises a dynamic driving experience coupled with sporty design, advanced technology, and enhanced safety features.

“The Cerato has been a huge pillar of Kia’s success in Australia since its introduction in 2004 and will reach 200,000 sales this month,” Kia Australia Chief Executive Officer Damien Meredith said.

“We believe the K4 is a perfect fit for Australian tastes as the Cerato’s successor, complete with the right styling, technology, safety, and driving characteristics to be competitive in this ever-changing landscape.”

Initially, the K4 will launch in sedan form, with a hatchback model expected later in 2025.

The sedan range will feature four distinct trimlines: S, Sport, Sport+, and GT-Line. The S, Sport, and Sport+ variants are powered by a 2.0L MPI engine, while the GT-Line trim boasts a more powerful 1.6L Turbo-GDI engine. Safety is a paramount focus for the K4, with standard features across all grades, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Smart Cruise Control (SCC), and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA).

A Safety Pack is available for the S trim, enhancing it with a second 12.3-inch instrument display and advanced AEB features.

Additionally, the Sport, Sport+, and GT-Line models will include Kia’s latest Highway Driving Assist (HDA 2), a cutting-edge technology that promotes a safer and more comfortable driving experience on highways. As Kia ventures into this new era with the K4, it stands ready to impress Australian drivers with style, performance, and safety.
