Blanchard Racing Team and its CoolDrive Auto Parts Ford Mustang were the first team to put their Gen3 car to the test as the Supercars season draws near.
BRT recruit Todd Hazelwood took the Mustang for a ride around Winton Motor Raceway earlier this week – the vehicle was completed in-house at the BRT workshop.
Gen3 Mustangs and Chevrolet Camaros will duke it out this season in the new format for Supercars, which sees teams field cars closer to their consumer counterparts.
“The new BRT001 in its striking CoolDrive Auto Parts colours looks amazing,” Hazelwood said.
“The metallic blue paint really makes the finish of the car look super professional, and it looks fast just stilling still.
“The team at BRT have done a superb job with the build of this new Mustang.
“The have aimed for perfection in every aspect, and when you look closely at the car, you can truly see the attention to detail.”

BRT co-principal John Blanchard said being the first to have a complete Gen3 car ready for racing made the team proud.
“The build of the new Gen3 car started back in September last year, when we started planning and preparing our resources in anticipation. We significantly increased our manufacturing capabilities, minimised outside commitments, picked up parts to save time on freight no matter where in the country they were, build as many components in-house as possible to minimise reliance on third parties and just worked hard and long hours,” he said.
“I am very proud of everyone in our business and team for what they have achieved to get this car on track by February 1 – it has been a real team effort.”
