CoolDrive was on deck during the recent 2025 WorldSkills Australian National Championships in Brisbane, helping highlight apprentices with a special focus on auto-electrics.
Bringing together some of the best emerging tradespeople from across the country, the event hosted 605 competitors across various trades and industries were vying for victory and recognition.

In 2025 there was also a new focus in automative as electric vehicles became one of the hubs of the competition.
Participants were challenged with depowering, repowering and fault-finding EV systems.

It comes at a time where fee-free TAFE courses in Battery Electric Vehicle Servicing, are being offered around the country, to develop a workforce that can deal with the future of the automotive industry.
Reece Gallagher from Gold Coast, Queensland won gold in the category, deemed to be the most skilled in a rapidly changing industry.
Despite the competitive nature of the championships, they also serve as a showcase of the technical capabilities of the young men and women that the Australian automotive industry can be reassured by.
CoolDrive auto parts supported the Auto Electrical category by supplying high-quality components and offering the hand of its general manager of training and development, Scott Williamson.

Williamson said he was thrilled with “the exceptional calibre of talent emerging through vocational training.”
The auto-electric category of the championships spans over 16 hours across 3 days, testing the skills and patience of the youthful competitors.
