EX-BATHURST HEALEY RACE CAR #33
This Austin Healey 3000 MkI was raced in the 1998 Bathurst 1000 Healey International Commemorative Race as #33 owned and driven by Mike Broso. The Healey has been extensively modified and as such, these days would be ideally suited to competing in MSCA or similar club level motorsport events or at Historic Race meetings in the regularity class events. The modifications include but are not limited to the following:
Body: As original, plus louvred alloy bonnet and shortened windscreen.
Cockpit: Cobra race seat, 6 point 3" race harness, full width alloy rollbar, 15 Lecarra leather sports steering wheel, Denis Welch 100mm 8000RPM electronic tacho, large Autometer water temp gauge.
Engine: Race modified C series with roller rockers, external belt drive Peterson oil pump with System 1 remote cartridge filter, alloy catch tank, Denis Welch alloy sump, rocker cover and B&M harmonic balancer.
Fuel System: Triple 48mm Webers on alloy inlet manifolds with cable operated throttle. Alloy fuel tank with remote surge tank, 1x Facet fuel pump and 2x SU fuel pumps.
Exhaust: Ceramic coated 2x 3 into 1 Extractors into twin custom mufflers with 2¼ " side pipes.
Cooling System: Alloy crossflow radiator with remote swirl pot, electric water pump and electric cooling fan.
Gearbox: 4 speed straight cut close ratio centreshift Austin Healey box with overdrive (operated by gearknob mounted switch). Reverse lockout knob, Concentric clutch slave cylinder and steel scattershield.
Electrical: Alternator, Ignition Developments Electronic Distributor, Rev Limiter, Hi Torque Starter
Front Suspension: Custom modified upper and lower wishbones with coil over shocks and 20mm sway bar.
Rear Suspension:Leaf spring with QA1 Motorsport shocks, rose jointed panhard rod and provision for tramp rods with mounts on chassis and spring plates
Wheels: 15x6 Painted Spline Drive Minilite style alloys
Brakes: Front ventilated discs with B Technik 4 pot Calipers, Rear discs with Girling Calipers, tandem master cylinder with twin remote vacuum boosters, remote vacuum reservoir, brake bias control valve and all braided race brake hoses.
