This 2nd Gen Skylark was built in GM's Flint, Michigan plant in the 2nd week of March 1964 and was painted Arctic White and featured Red vinyl interior. It was produced as a 300cui-4v V8 engined car with aluminium heads and a Rochester 4-bbl carburetor to produce 250hp, and was matched to a ST-300 2-speed column-shift automatic transmission and driven through a conventional rear differential with 2.78:1 gearing. It was first delivered to Taylor Motor Company in Waynesville, North Carolina and sold to its original and only US owner, where it had spent all its life until it was imported into Australia in 2018.

This certainly is an awesome example of the now rare '64 Skylark, and it is still original in many ways, but now sporting upgrades to bring it into the modern driving era. The car has had a closed door repaint at some point in time in its original colour of Arctic White, and the Red vinyl upholstery appears to be still original and in very good condition for its age. The carpet is showing its age, however is still very serviceable. Whilst still under original ownership the transmission has been upgraded to a TH-2004r Overdrive 4-speed unit and the steering wheel has been upgraded to a mid 70's Buick model. The car was a one-owner vehicle prior to it being imported into Australia, and it still runs its 'Numbers Matching' engine which was dubbed by Buick as the 'Wildcat 355'. This engine runs stock aluminium heads, a stock alloy inlet manifold and now an upgraded Edelbrock 600 4-bbl carburetor.

Since its ownership in Australia it has had many upgrades and much work performed, for which receipts are available power steering via a fast ratio Corvette steering box with an electric pump from Retrorack; power assisted 4-wheel disc brakes; new radiator, water pump & hoses, alternator, electronic ignition, distributor and plugs & leads; suspension work including new springs, shock absorbers, ball joints & sway bars; new wiper arms, motor & blades; and new indicator stem with cutoff switch.

This is a very solid car with no filler anywhere, all straight panels. It is a genuine original 108,393 mileage car, with receipt history of registration and mileage for over 50 years from the same servicing garage in the US, and the original North Carolina Title. The 1964 Buick Owners Manual and Owner Protection Plan booklet with 'Protect-O-Plate' with original key still intact, are also included.

All engineering has been signed off for the upgrades performed and the car bears full NSW road registration until September 2024. Also available with the car is a new transmission overhaul kit and a 1964 Buick Skylark workshop manual.

This truly is a rare car, and they dont come more documented than this one, it would certainly suit an enthusiast.
