Description
This car was sold new in Illinois USA in February 1959, the original sale receipt comes with the car.
The first owners had the car for 46 years ticking up just 47000 miles from new. At some stage the car was repainted in original Surf Blue, before being sold.
A fastidious car enthusiast. He owned the car for 10 years in which time he restored it mechanically to above original specs. The restoration was a complete go through from radiator to differential. A detailed set of pictures come with the car showing all work completed, plus a comprehensive file of photos and receipts.
There is an aluminum radiator and an electric fan currently fitted, also electronic ignition and a Holly carburetor with sports air cleaner currently on the car. The original Ford air cleaner, the original fan and the original carburetor will all be sold with the car.
When I purchased the car in 2015 it had done just 56000 miles. I imported the car my self from Texas.
In the last 8 years I have done just 6000 miles only to club meeting and never in wet conditions. Since the mechanically restoration, the car has done between 8000 to 10000 miles approximately.
The interior has had new insulated carpets and a modern radio fitted under the dash, the original radio is fitted but not connected.
The car is dead straight and all chrome is original, it is perfectly reliable and could be driven any where straight away. The interior is in good original condition with no tears and new carpet
This Ford, is a Custom 300, three speed manual with a 292ci V8.
This car is on full Tasmanian registration, not club or special interest.
The personalized number plates will remain on the car only if the car remains in Tasmania, otherwise they remain the property of the seller.
