For sale is a Grabber Special Value Package optioned 1970 Mustang Sportsroof in stunning Grabber Blue with White trim. Offered only in 1970 this special value package took the exterior colours and striping from the successful and more expensive Mach 1 and Boss Mustangs and made a similar looking value pack available to a broader audience. For sale from Geelong, Victoria.
In fact Ford built 5,120 Grabber specials and this example is one of 1,384 in the standout colour of Grabber Blue. According to the Marti Report, this Mustang was ordered in the Denver Colorado ordering district and delivered to the original owner on the 14th of May, 1970. Optioned with power steering, AM radio and colour keyed racing mirrors, this Mustang is powered by the factory fitted matching numbers F code 302 2V V8 engine and the C-4 Cruise-O-Matic transmission. The Mustang has been subsequently fitted with front and rear spoilers and a rear window louvre.
Imported to Australia in 2014 and owned by the current owner since then, the Mustang has been signed by Mustang performance tuner legend Jack Roush.
Repainted in the USA prior to importation the car presents in excellent condition throughout with no rust or damage. The Mustang was restored by Moores Body Works in Grand Junction, Colorado in 2003. At the time, the hood scoop was fitted to the bonnet. The chrome and glass is also in perfect condition. The interior also presents in excellent condition with all working gauges, blue tooth retro radio, power steering and the Mustang was retrimmed in 2004 in the correct White trim by Dallas Custom Mustangs.
Mechanically, the 302 Windsor was reconditioned in 2002 with the current owner fitting Hooker Competition extractors, an electronic distributor, Edlebrock Performer manifold and a 600 Vac Sec Holley carby in 2016. The Mustang is serviced regularly and the car runs and drives perfectly.
The Mustang has been converted to run front disc brakes with rear drums in 2016. Suspension has fully reconditioned with heavy duty springs fitted.
Riding on Magnum 500 wheels and 215/60R15s B F Goodrich TA radials on the front and 255/60R15 B F Goodrich TA Radial tyres on the rear.
The Mustang comes with 4 huge receipt folders going back to around 2002. The Mustang has a Victorian mod plate noting the fitment of lap sash seatbelts in the front and back.
