Description

Introducing the 1963 Ford Thunderbird Pillarless Coupe, a stunning example of classic American automotive design. This former concours winner features the reliable 390 cubic inch engine and power steering, ensuring a smooth and powerful driving experience. Regularly driven and just serviced, it comes with new brakes and a new automatic transmission, ready for you to enjoy.
This exceptional vehicle includes a treasure trove of historical documentation and accessories: all trophies, owners manuals, workshop manuals, log books, and many spare parts are included. Ready to provide another 60 years of driving pleasure, this third-generation T-Bird is one of the most coveted models, renowned for its sleek styling and luxurious features.
Having been in Australia for approximately ten years, this Thunderbird is ready for its next chapter. It offers a unique opportunity to purchase a truly long-term investment. We challenge you to find a better example worldwide.
The 1961-1963 Thunderbirds introduced several market-first innovations. The most distinctive feature is the highly touted 'Swing Away' steering wheel. When the transmission gear selector is in the park position, the steering wheel slides approximately 18 inches to the right, allowing easy exit from the vehicle. This feature disables the gear selector until the steering wheel is returned to the center, preventing accidents. Other innovations include a floating rear-view mirror attached directly to the inside of the windshield. Several standard features, such as power steering, power brakes, backup lights, and bucket seats, were costly options on most other automobiles of the time. Additional options included air conditioning, power windows, power seats, an AM radio, fender skirts, and whitewall tires.
In terms of luxury and performance, the third-generation Thunderbird stands unrivaled as a powerful personal luxury car from the early 60s. For more details, visit www.phauto.com.au.
