I had had many XW & Y Utes over the years but decided this 1 had to be a manual. So the internal size of the cab had to be changed.

351 Cleveland developing 400HP, 2V heads with 4V valves fitted , heads were on a 9sec ¼ mile car from 45years ago, inlet manifold to suit ( Dyno results, Spacer plate fitted between Intake Man & base of carby , improvement of 30HP, Reworked base of air filter housing to reduce height as much as possible[ but the Shaker sits higher than normal ) Trick up C4 Auto, thicker balanced Tail Shaft, ZH Fairlane 9 Disc Brake Dif ,was already fitted to the Ute, F stub axles & rotors are XC these were changed from the standard XY setup to try and curb the breakage problem of Stub Axles on poorly maintained country roads. GT steering box. Radiator is XD triple core cross flow, ZD F,B,Bar with Fog Lights fitted, genuine Shaker Rear Panard bar fitted with mini tubs preformed whilst re shaping the R 1/4s. NOS Tailgate was used.

The cab has been altered, the parcel tray & the angled panel below were removed, a vertical panel was reattached allowing seats & belts to be moved back 150mm, allowing me to drive it as a manual. The first 18mths of its driving life it was fitted with a Top Loader gearbox. A week before it was due to be inspected by the engineer, whilst driving home in my ZB Fairlane, someone decided that they liked my side of the road much more than theres. 11mths later I took the Ute to be engineered & registered, he informed me i was registering a group-c racecar, I persisted with the manual, but had to change it back to an Auto for physical reasons. I kept the long locating bar for top of the pedals, so all it needs is a gearbox, pedal, S & M Cylinder & its back to how it was designed
By doing this alteration the original P tank would not fit back in, so I fitted a sedan tank in the rear section of the Ute floor with an internal filler neck with the factory recess for spare tyre. I fitted a ZD Station Wagon R/bar with cut outs to raise the tail pipes, the cuts outs are also in the redesigned beaver panel.
Side windows & ¼ glass have been changed, single windows, Toyota Corona 1984 are fitted instead of them with slight modification to the top curve of the glass Hardtop Ute Lid & Spoiler . Simone 15 Wheels 8 & 10 Disc pads F & B have just been recently replaced. Both rear wheel bearings have recently been replaced
Extra body weight{ 1420 to 1620} is from the Front of the R wheel arches back, this incorporated with the panard bar & rear wing has helped the cornering ability enormously with minor body roll. Windscreen was resealed Sep 2022
