Description
I bought this SL/E in 1983. I'm it's second owner. Restoration was done over a 5 year period. Since restoration, car has done only 5823 kms as at 8th October 2024. Re-licensed January 2021. It is fully road registered.
Photos, videos and a spreadsheet showing all parts that were replaced are available to the purchaser.
The car has been garaged all its life and as a result was almost rust free at restoration. The only rust was a small area behind each rear wheel, left hand sill under left rear passenger door (about 35cm) and the lip under the boot seal.
The glass is all original, front and rear windows have never been out let alone replaced.
Upholstery is in sensational condition and is original. Only dash and console were recovered.
The car has been modified for modern drivability. However ALL ORIGINAL PARTS (including original SL/E wheels) go with the sale of the car. No wires have been cut and the car can easily be put back to factory specs.
I understand it is one of the first factory VH Shadowtone SL/E's off the line. It has some unique qualities. No computer! Factory 6 cyl 3.3 Blue engine.
Mods are
3.3l Blue slightly cammed, new EVERYTHING except block which is a Repco block (bored +60 Thou)
ARP main studs,
Yella terra head,
triple DCOE45 webers,
4l60E gearbox controlled by HGM computer (In car programming).
Its a usable daily driver. Its in great condition but has been left with very minor little ripples on a couple of spots.
This is a solid car that hasn't been bashed around. Never been in an accident, is straight and has the potential to easily be put back to factory (all parts go with the car) or take out the six and drop a V8 in. Your choice.
