They were all fitted with Hydra-matic 3-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment, which was optional on other EJ series models.
The body of the car has been stripped back to bare metal and fully repainted approximately 10 years ago and new rubbers installed throughout. The colour of the car is Theatre Grey metallic with a white roof. All of the chrome work and trim on the outside of the car wasrestored at the same time. Completing the period look on the outside is a set of genuine of steel wheels and hubcaps shod with white wall tyres and period correct sunvisor. Open the door and you will find the upmarket Premier interior that is all new. The seats contain brown leather through the middle (Astoria) which has a pretty cool aged look to it with the outsides having been recovered in Waldorf Red. New retractable seatbelts have been installed as well. The factory bucket seats and centre console are a cool Premier feature. New carpet and rear windscreen venetion completes the interior. A new Retrosounds Bluetooth stereo system supplies the tunes whilst cruising.
The original motor has been subjected to a mechanical rebuild some 10 years ago. The engine is paired to the factory Trimatic auto transmission. Braking has been upgraded with the instalation of a brake booster (a new Australian-made Booster was chosen).
These early Holdens have proven to be great investments in recent times. This car being a top of the line Premier with some tasteful upgrades certainly makes for a great eye-catching Aussie Classic Cruiser.
