Description
Now for sale is this stunning two collector owner 2004 Holden VZ Monaro CV8 in Turismo Mica with only 1,974 km on the clock! Located in Dongara, WA.
A small band of Holden designers, working in secret, conspired to create a coupe from the stylish VT Commodore. Peter Hughes doodled several coupes early in the sedan's development, noting that the new Commodore's shape leant itself naturally to the two-door treatment.
Design boss Mike Simcoe felt the same. He created a realistic 'tape' drawing on his loungeroom wall then commissioned clay modeler Arthur Radziszewski to produce a scale model to ensure the proportions were right.
The concept was convincing enough for Simcoe. He just needed support within Holden to make the car a reality. Incoming GMH CEO Peter Hanenberger, former Holden suspension engineer and verifiable car guy, got straight behind it.
And with Ford Australia staged to unveil the revolutionary AU Falcon at the 1998 Sydney Motor Show, the boys at Holden whipped the covers off their creation just 15 minutes prior, upstaging the Broadmeadows crew with the svelte, beautiful Commodore Coupe.
The consensus amongst the press and public alike was resounding. This was a Monaro.
In amazing Turismo Mica paint & Anthracite leather trim, this super clean example features the original pushrod all-American Generation III 5.7-litre V-8, producing 302 bhp at 5200 rpm with the 4 speed automatic transmission as it was from factory.
This Monaro stands out from the rest not only because of its low mileage but also beautifully optioned with the rear spoiler ordered through Holden by DESIGN. Option Code: HSGT.
The Anthracite leather trim with contrasting colour coded dashboard is in perfect condition. The CV8 comes with all owners manuals, log books and a full service history including two sets of keys. The car is riding on excellent 235/40R18 tyres mounted on the factory 18 x 8-inch 5-spoke alloy rims along with a Spacesaver spare in the boot.
Not only is this Monaro CV8 in totally original and unmolested condition it has also been professionally maintained to the highest standard. Full log book service history is kept and she's undergone a major service in June 2022 and a recent plugs and oil change in September 2023.
There was never any doubt that this beautifully designed Coupe would become a modern muscle car worthy of the famous Monaro appellation. And we doubt you will find a more worthy addition to any Holden collection than this Stunning Turismo Mica low mileage CV8.
The car is located in Dongara, WA for your private inspection. (Ref: 6376)
If you wish, we will gladly arrange an actual/video inspection tour of the car and of course there is no issue to arrange enclosed transport door to door anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
