Here is a rare opportunity to purchase a genuine cherished iconic HSV VL SS Group A Walkinshaw. This much-loved Walkinshaw is in excellent condition inside and out. Build number 243 of just 750 examples, it is believed to be one of only 10 specified with a dealer fitted Holden sunroof. The odometer shows a modest 138,200 km from new.
The vehicle was purchased by the current owner in 1994 and has been meticulously maintained ever since.
Today, the HSV VL SS Group A Walkinshaw is considered one of the most iconic Australian cars of all time and is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike. It featured a specifically designed body kit that reduced drag by over 25% from the 1987 HDT SS Group A Commodore.
The VL SS Group A was the first build for the then-new Holden Special Vehicles, a partnership between Holden and the UK-based Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR).
Production run: Initially just 500 Group A Walkinshaw's were commissioned, though an extra 250 were built to satisfy increased demand.
