OVERDRIVE EQUIPPED AUSTRALIAN DELIVERED SALOON

The Jaguar 2.4 (MkI) was the Forerunner of one of Jaguar's Most Iconic Sedans, the Mk2, and was the First Jaguar to feature Unitary Body Construction, which did away with the Traditional Separate Body on Chassis Construction with the Front Suspension being carried on a separate Sub-Frame. Released in 1955 the MkIs Production continued Until 1959 with a total of only 37,397 examples Produced, of which 19,992 were 2.4 Litre with the Remaining 17,405 being 3.4 Litre.

This Matching Numbers 2.4 MkI Special Equipment was despatched from Browns Lane on the 6th of December 1957 then believed to have been delivered to its first owner by Brysons in Sydney. The Jaguar Presents Well, Finished in its Original Mist Grey Coachwork, Sparkling Brightwork and Complemented by a lovely Grey Leather Interior with Green Carpets. The Cockpit conveys the Classic Aire of Period Style, Highlighted with the Timber Door Capping, Window Surrounds and Burr Walnut Instrument Panel containing the Smiths Speedometer, Tachometer, Fuel Gauge, Ammeter, Water Temperature/Oil Pressure Gauges and a Cigar Lighter.

The File Accompanying the 2.4 contains a copy of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate confirming the Jaguars Original details, as well as various invoices dating back to the Mid 80s, including an invoice dated October 2019 from Mike Roddy Motors confirming the supply of a Moss Gearbox with Overdrive in Good Working order.

The Jaguar drives well with the Benefit of Original Style Power Steering and has Good Period Performance for a Luxury Saloon of its size. The Engine is Predictably Smooth and the 4 Speed Moss Gearbox with Overdrive allows the driver to choose the ideal ratio for all occasions. It is perfect for a Weekend Run to your Favourite Lunch Spot or perhaps a Classic Car get together where it is sure to Attract a lot of Attention.
