History:
Delivered new to UK in 1976 and imported late 1982, this car has spent almost all of its life in Australia. Purchased in 1983 by Stan Broomhall, Director of Broomhall Hire. The car was sold early in 2023 ending ownership within one Australian family of 40 years.

The new owner used his extensive experience to undertake a complete restoration AND greatly improving drivability and comfort. All aspects were subject to in-depth scrutiny making this classic SLC into close to new condition but with enhancements to make it more comparable to contemporary sports cars.

A Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC for the 2020s:
Drawing on innovations in the pre-merger AMG 107 cars and the development of the celebrated UK SLShop SportsLine 107, modifications made in a number of key areas aimed at improving the comfort, handling and driving experience creating an AMG Tribute.

A partial summary of work follows. An extensive binder together with supporting invoices, photographs and a 15 page history will be supplied to purchaser.
All major components were removed and assessed including the motor, drivetrain gearbox, differential, timing chain and fuel injection
Fuel system refurbishment included new Bosch injectors, reconditioning K-Jet distributor, new Bosch fuel pump & filter
New radiator, water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses and a new viscous fan. New compressor & AC system fitted - 12 month warranty
Overhaul of all engine electrics, new distributor cap, rotor, ignition coil, plugs & leads
A new automatic transmission 2-year, 40,000 km Warranty, a special torque converter, rebuilt diff., new engine, prop shaft and rear end mounts fitted
A custom stainless steel twin exhaust system with SL Shops SportsLine manifold.
A complete respray by a specialist in the original silver metallic finish.
New grill and chrome fittings
New headlining, new leather seating and correct loop pile carpets from Germany.
To improve comfort Recaro Ergomed DS seats, the top model in the Recaro product line, sourced from Germany
Steering wheel replaced with period correct, smaller diameter, AMG wheel
New front windscreen and new rear heated windscreen. C Pillar opera louvres fully restored
New headlight glasses, new headlight bulbs with increased output, new rear taillights, new clear front indicators and new fog lights
Suspension: upgraded front sway bar, a rear anti-squat sway bar, new subframe and suspension rubbers, new Bilstein shockers and springs providing a lower sporting stance.
Two-piece, 17-inch AMG style wheels fitted with Goodyear F1 tires
Car & Audio GmbH in-house sound system for 107s: custom kick panel speakers, DSP amp, an under seat subwoofer. A Pioneer AVH-Z7250BT supplies satellite navigation, Bluetooth, mobile telephony hidden reversing camera & Apple Carplay. A Becker Tribute-Series Radio is also supplied for purchaser wanting an authentic look.
There is an original owners manual, a replacement maintenance booklet detailing the restoration, a copy of the original data card, and an original tool kit with the car.

A full inspection & NSW RWC Certificate issued September 2024. For a potential purchaser, a full inspection and check over of car was undertaken by well-known Mercedes-Benz specialist in November 2024.
A change in my circumstances results in car being available.
Priced at $69,950 in line with recent sale of 450SLCs above $70,000 in Sydney and Melbourne.
