Description

  • The John Player Special (JPS) edition was a limited-production version of the MG B, inspired by the Lotus John Player Special Formula 1 cars of the 1970s.
  • Only 1,000 JPS MG Bs were produced, making them relatively rare and sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts.
Features:
  • Black paint with gold accents
  • Gold wheels
  • JPS logo on the side
  • 1.8L four-cylinder engine
  • Four-speed manual transmission
  • The John Player Special edition of the MG B is considered one of the most desirable versions of the car.
  • Its distinctive black and gold livery and performance upgrades make it a collectible classic car.
This black JPS Roadster was brought over from the UK, as part of a collection in 2011.

The car is a 1978, with the preferred 18V847 1.8L engine, 4 sync and overdrive gearbox.

The car had a refurbishment and put on the road 16/3/2016.

It has now completed several club runs.

In 2016 it had been rebuilt under side, suspension brakes etc. The brake master cylinder and servo booster were also rebuilt.

The steering rack was replaced, wheel aligned & balanced, and fitted new tyres.

Carburetors were stripped, genuine SU rebuild kit fitted, balanced, tuned and timed, also new fuel tank & sender.

Head removed, valve grind, and new Head gasket set, valve springs, thermostat fitted, radiator flushed, new coolant.

Fitted British made electronic ignition, with new cap, leads, plugs & high energy coil.

New manifold studs and gaskets, polished manifolds. Carb needles have been increased to allow for the better breathing.

New pancake air filters, oil & fuel filters, and engine, gearbox & diff oils changed. Brake system flushed and fluid replaced.

Hood replaced, 2011 with DeBeer two pack, 6 coats, needs flatten, cut & polish.

Pioneer sound system fitted.

The chassis rails, underside and behind inner panels have all been rust protected.

In summary, the interior and exterior are tidy, but not perfect, which reflects price. The brakes, steering & suspension are all rebuilt.

Plenty of paper work for work complete both in England and in Australia after importation.
