FCAI releasing quarterly EV report

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) will be releasing quarterly reports on electric car sales.
The report will review sales figures for battery electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
The nation-first report is designed to help inform stakeholders as Australia moves toward lowering emissions across the board.

“VFACTS data is the premier source of car sales information for decision makers and commentators across Australia,” FCAI Chief Executive Tony Weber said.
“This report will be vital in revealing the progress of zero and low emission vehicle penetration into Australia’s light vehicle fleet.”

Low emission vehicles made up 14 per cent of total Australian car sales in 2022 according to report. It includes state-by-state and quarter-by-quarter breakdowns.

“An essential part of the journey to a zero-emission light vehicle fleet is the implementation of an ambitious yet achievable fuel efficiency standard,” Weber said.
“All FCAI members are aligned on the need for an emissions target which considers consumers, the unique nature of the Australian market, product availability, affordability, and the full range of zero and low emission technologies.”
