Redbull Ampol got its 2024 Supercars season off to a commanding start on the weekend.
Drivers Broc Feeney and Will Brown won Race 1 and Race 2 respectively at the Bathurst 500.
“Great to be here, just a fantastic job by the team, to have two new cars this year, a new teammate, to come out 1-2 in qualifying and then the race today,” Feeney said.
“I’m pumped my first win on a Saturday so hopefully we can have a good one tomorrow and keep that rolling.
“I’ve had a pretty good run here, last weekend was pretty fun at the 12 Hour, for sure I feel like a needed a win to get me going again. Still hasn’t made up for it [the heartbreak of the 2023 Bathurst 1000] so we’ll be back here trying to chase that one again in October.
“P1, it’s a pretty awesome start to the year.”
Brown – who claimed his first win with his new team – was ecstatic to start his Redbull campaign off with a win at Mount Panorama.
“Yeah, it means a lot, first round with the new team. To get a win, to get a pole position this weekend, absolutely stoked,” Brown said.
“So, thanks to everyone at Red Bull Ampol Racing. I’m absolutely knackered. It was pretty hard out there. I had Chaz just pushing me along. I was thinking, can he piss off? But, he wouldn’t.
“I thought he is gonna have a lunge at me somewhere and he is a hard racer, so just trying to keep a bit ahead. But God, he is quick down the hill, early days.
“It’s a long year ahead. All these guys are driving great. So, we’ll see where we end up.”
The Supercars action continues in Melbourne from March 21.
