Ford has pulled the covers off the updated 2026 Ranger and Everest lineup.
Major focus has been placed on enhancing Australia’s best-selling vehicle – the Ford Ranger – through more power, more tech and a sharper, more confident design.
As the number-one ute in the country, the Ranger leads this mid-cycle overhaul, setting the tone for what Ford describes as an evolution in capability, refinement and everyday usability.

“The Ford Ranger has always set the standard for capability and versatility, and now we’re raising the bar again,” said Ambrose Henderson, Marketing Director, Ford Australia.
“We’re giving customers more value, more power, and the trusted, clever features they rely on, whether they’re on a job site or heading out for a weekend adventure.
“At the same time, the Everest has become a favourite of adventure-ready families around the country. We’ve listened to those customers and added more equipment as standard to our entry model, the Everest Active.”
More power and smarter drivetrains
Given the Ranger’s dominant position in the market, Ford’s biggest mechanical upgrade is the expanded availability of its acclaimed 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine.
Producing 184kW and 600Nm, the V6 now extends across more Ranger variants – including, for the first time, the workhorse Ranger XL.

Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission becomes standard across every Ranger and Everest variant (excluding Raptor), improving responsiveness and ensuring each vehicle delivers its full 3500kg braked towing capacity.
“By expanding the availability of our powerful 3.0L V6 and standardising the 10-speed automatic, we’re putting more of the performance and refinement customers love within their reach,” Ranger and Everest Product Marketing Manager Michael Ferguson said.
Sharper, more confident
The Ranger also takes the lead in Ford’s refreshed styling direction. Chrome has been phased out in favour of modern gloss and matte black finishes, giving models such as XLT, Wildtrak and Platinum a tougher, more contemporary presence.
“Ranger and Everest have an unmistakable look,” Ford Australia Chief Designer Max Tran said.
“For this update we’ve focused on updating what our customers have told us they love.
“You’ll notice we’ve replaced contrasting greys and chrome accents on some models for blacks. The result is a more contemporary way of communicating confidence, the personality of each variant, and premium finishes.”

Blackened trim, bolder lines, revised wheel designs and darkened interior accents now feature across key Ranger grades, underscoring Ford’s push toward a premium yet rugged aesthetic.
Major range expansions and new variants
The Ranger lineup grows for 2026.5, anchored by the permanent addition of the Ranger Black Edition – previously a limited-run favourite – now available with both the 2.0L turbo and 3.0L V6. The Ranger XL, a staple of worksites across Australia, sees its biggest equipment increase in years.
Now available with the V6, XL gains a 12-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, rear air vents for double cabs, rear disc brakes on V6 models, and adjustable drive modes. The XLS shifts exclusively to a 3.0L V6 double cab-chassis, picking up side steps, carpet flooring and all-terrain tyres.
Wildtrak gains its new hero colour, Ignite Orange, alongside Matrix LED headlights and a 10-speaker B&O audio system as standard. Platinum steps further upmarket with Acacia Green as its exclusive new finish.
Ford’s Driver Assist Technology (DAT) bar is also introduced to cab-chassis models, meaning owners who switch between trays and service bodies no longer lose access to safety systems such as BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert, Reverse Brake Assist and a digital reverse camera.

Introducing the Wolftrak and returning Tremor
A new Ranger Wolftrak arrives with a head-turning new hero colour, Traction Green, bold Zest accents and rugged design cues including a long-leg sports bar, black wheels and heavy-duty 4WD hardware.
Exclusively available with the 3.0L V6 in a Double Cab Pick-Up, Wolftrak blends off-road capability with distinctive styling. The Ranger Tremor also returns for a limited time—this round with the 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel.
Paired with Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, increased ground clearance, all-terrain tyres and advanced off-road assist systems, the updated Tremor is positioned as one of the most capable non-Raptor Rangers ever offered.
Updated Colours Across the Range Blue Lightning is removed from Wildtrak but remains for XLT, Tremor and Raptor. Wildtrak adopts Ignite Orange, while Platinum receives Acacia Green.

The new Wolftrak introduces Traction Green, available alongside Shadow Black and Command Grey at no extra cost.
With performance gains, technology upgrades and a clear move towards a tougher, more contemporary design language, the updated 2026 Ford Ranger reinforces why it remains Australia’s most popular ute.
Ford’s enhancements across the lineup – from tradie-spec XL to adventure-ready Tremor and the premium Platinum – ensure the Ranger continues to lead one of the country’s most competitive segments.
Ranger 2026 models – including WolfTrak and Raptor – will range from about $37,000 to $90,000.
