Batman has arrived in Australia … well, the Batmobile at least.
Batman Day is on Saturday September 21, and Warner Bros. Discovery Australia and Uber team up to offer fans in Sydney and Adelaide an unforgettable experience—a free ride in Batman’s iconic Batmobile.
As part of the global celebration of the Caped Crusader, Aussies can mark the 85th anniversary of Gotham City’s masked vigilante by taking a ride in the crime-fighting vehicle, cruising through some of the country’s most famous landmarks.
This special occasion is celebrated annually on the third Saturday of September, a day for Batman fans of all ages to honour the legendary superhero.
“There is no Super Hero more iconic than the Caped Crusader, and no ride more iconic than the Batmobile, so we are excited to be giving Aussies the opportunity to experience the Batmobile for the first time,” Warner Bros. Discovery Australia Senior Marketing Director Sasha Mackie said.
“Batman Day is a day where all fans are invited to celebrate all things the Dark Knight, so whether you love the movies or find your passion in the catalogue of comics, animated series and games, a trip in the Batmobile is something all fans can enjoy.”
I’m Batman
The 85th anniversary makes it an even more exciting event, as fans reflect on how Batman has evolved over the decades, from his first appearance in comic books to his portrayal in beloved TV shows, cartoons, and blockbuster films.
This year, Batman’s faithful butler, Alfred Pennyworth, has discreetly taken the Batmobile out of the Batcave, allowing Uber users in Sydney and Adelaide to enjoy a ride in one of the world’s most iconic vehicles.

On September 20 and 21 in Sydney, and September 27 and 28 in Adelaide, lucky fans can book a ride in the fan-built Batmobile for free through the Uber app. The Batmobile will be available on demand, but only within a 5km radius of the central business districts of both cities.
Rides will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and with only one passenger seat available, fans are advised to leave their sidekick Robin at home for this one-of-a-kind experience.

In addition to the ride itself, a few lucky fans may also be gifted exclusive Batman merchandise from Gotham Collectables, adding an extra layer of excitement to their Batman Day adventure.
