HPP Lunds goes to the aid of next gen engineers

For many years the Society of Automotive Engineers – Australasia (SAE-A) has been conducting its Formula SAE event, which is a yearly competition where university students design, build and compete in their very own Formula-style open-wheeled racing car.

These are the young engineers of tomorrow who will work in fields such as mechanical and electrical, they will be designing and developing new and innovative products and systems. This event helps them develop the skills they will need for their upcoming employment.

HPP Lunds recognises that these students are our future and so has made a positive contribution to assist them with their efforts by sponsoring the Melbourne University team MUR Motorsports. This is a team of 72 student engineers.

By supplying products from its wide range: JB Weld adhesives and epoxies, grinding and cutting wheels, tools, equipment and accessories, the company has provided consumables and tools that ease the financial pressure on MUR, after all this is a student team.

MUR has said that the products have contributed massively to the car project across many areas. Grinding wheels, cutting Wheels and microfibre cloths have been essential in nearly every garage task.

The chassis team has used products to help clean and prepare the chassis and jig for welding. The low voltage team has used products in line with its component manufacture. Other tools have been helpful with vacuum pump, oil changes, brake fluid changes and composites manufacturing. JB weld products are always in great demand.

The team has said that such a big project like building a car takes a lot of consumables, HPP Lunds providing products has alleviated some of the financial pressure thus freeing up funds for important tasks such as track testing days.
