Question

We have a 2007 Hyundai Getz 1,4 in the workshop with a fault we are struggling to diagnose. The vehicle has a vibration when the engine is idling or on light throttle. The engine doesn’t have a misfire. Can you help?

Answer

Yes, we have been made aware of a fault on the 1,4 Getz model with G4HE engine code.

The fault is due to excessive friction in the RH upper engine mounting. Fit a spacer ring (40 mm x 3 mm) to the RH upper engine mounting between the stop plate and the engine mounting rubber. Carry out road test to confirm fault has been rectified.
