Kia Cerato replacement – the EV4 gets fleshed out in Spain

Kia Corporation unveiled more details about its upcoming EV4 – featuring both the EV4 sedan and EV4 hatchback models – in Tarragona, Spain.

“The Kia EV4 is a clear reflection of our commitment to rethink mobility, and expand the boundaries of what design can achieve,” Kia Global Design Executive Vice President Karim Habib said.
“By offering both sedan and hatchback variants, we are bringing to our customers the unique experience of modernity and practicality that defines the Kia EV family.”

Developed to broaden the appeal of Kia’s electric vehicle lineup, the EV4 targets a diverse demographic with its modern design and advanced technologies, resonating with lifestyle-focused buyers keen on exploration.

“Offering a fresh take on the sedan, the EV4 sedan features a sleek, low nose and long-tail silhouette. The EV4 hatchback is a nimble, versatile all-rounder. Distinctive and clean, it is built to excel in any situation,” Habib added.

Opposites attract

The EV4’s design is rooted in Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, creating harmony through contrasts rarely seen in the compact segment. This is reflected in the vehicle’s dynamic profiles, blending sharp lines with bold, technical detailing.

The EV4 exemplifies Kia’s vision for electric vehicles through its innovative silhouette, presenting a new typology within a uniform EV market. Every aspect of the EV4 design embodies a sense of freedom and exploration, appealing to drivers who value innovation and versatility.

Both the EV4 sedan and hatchback are designed to thrive in urban environments and over long journeys. Exterior features of the EV4 sedan include the innovative EV Tiger Face, complemented by vertically oriented headlamps and Kia’s signature Star Map lighting, which together create a wide, sporty stance while enhancing the vehicle’s cutting-edge character.

The EV4 sedan reimagines traditional sedan design with a streamlined silhouette and a low hood line that flows seamlessly to a long-tail rear. A unique roof spoiler emphasises the premium look, while machined 19-inch wheels with intricate technical stripes emphasise Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ ethos, delivering a progressive presence on the road.

From the rear, the sedan continues this design language with a distinctive two-piece rear spoiler that, combined with vertical light units, reinforces the vehicle’s broad stance and sporty appeal.
