It was a Mustang heavy weekend for the Gold Coast and Supercars, with two winners crowned on the weekend.
Both Cam Waters (Tickford Racing) and David Reynolds (Penrite Racing) took top podium with their GEN3 Mustangs in their respective races on the weekend.
“It was awesome to see the Fords win both races this weekend,” said Waters.
Tickford Racing’s Tim Edwards said the result was a massive relief in what’s been a tough Supercars season for Ford drivers.
“The team have worked so hard for this,” he said.
“We had strong race pace through the weekend, particularly with Cam and Thomas Randle.”
“Ultimately this is a real driver’s track and it shows the strength of our drivers that they could achieve what they did this weekend.”
Reynolds and Waters also clocked third-place finishes as well to top off a huge weekend.
“I’m just so, so over the moon. It’s been a long time coming,” Reynolds said.
“This is a huge step forward for us and also for the category.”
Supercars will finish off its 2023 Championship Series at the Adelaide 500 on November 23-26.
