Mustangs make the most of The Bend

Ford Mustangs across Supercars teams made the most out a wild ride at South Australia’s The Bend.
This included Tickford driver Thomas Randle, who finished the weekend three-for-three in podium finishes.

“[This was] My best finish in Supercars. It’s nice to roll out with the Gen3 car being speedy,” Randle said.

Teammate Cam Waters and WAU star Chaz Mostert also saw the podium via great runs in their Mustangs.

“It’s always nice being in the battle,” Mostert said.

Mostert remains in the hunt at 5th overall in the Supercars standings.

WAU’s Bruce Stewart said Mostert’s two podiums and a fourth-place finish at The Bend were encouraging signs.

“It was nice to be a little big stronger in qualifying, although we’re not there yet,” he said.
“At the sprint rounds, qualifying at the front as there is a great advantage and such a small difference between the lead pack of six cars then the hard battlers in the mid-pack.
“We’ve learned a lot more about the cars. So we’re looking forward to the enduros. Let’s see what we can do.”

The 2023 Supercars Championship Series continues at Sandown from September 15.
