Why not become a crown service technician?

Have you got some mechanical knowledge but aren’t sure what to do with it? How about working for one of the biggest lift truck companies in the world? A few months of training with Crown and you can be on the road with your own van, working in a great team environment and on a rewarding salary with opportunity for ongoing advancements. There are so many benefits to becoming a Crown service technician.

We all know the Crown brand. Since entering the material handling equipment industry in 1960, Crown has become a leading innovator in world-class forklift equipment. In Australia and New Zealand it dominates the market with a range of premium material handling equipment, from pallet jacks to high-lifting turret trucks.

Crown’s reputation as the best in the business doesn’t just come from their exceptional products. Their aftersales maintenance and service department is second to none. For client satisfaction and to keep the hundreds of thousands of machines out there running flawlessly, they are always looking for hard working, mechanically minded individuals to join their team.

Never worked on a lift truck before? Don’t worry, Crown gives you the training, specialty tools and support you need to launch your new career as a service technician.

Its award-winning service training programs give you the Crown-specific skills you need to keep a fleet up and running. Since many of us are hands-on learners, it’s easier to retain information learned through firsthand experience than just material presented in a lecture. Crown’s Service Training goes above and beyond traditional classroom training, allowing participants to work on lift trucks with instructor supervision.

An initial seven-week induction program with mentoring from industry experts will give you the product knowledge and confidence for success in the field. Training materials and industry service manuals are provided with the ongoing product training. After induction the world is your oyster, as Crown’s strong field leadership give you the guidance and support required so you can start work and even seek further education for promotions.

As a Crown service technician you get many perks; guaranteed full-time work with excellent potential for overtime pay, tiered salary range linked to ability with opportunity for upskilling, fully maintained service van for work and take-home use, uniforms supplied and laundered by Crown, all tools and specialty equipment, safety boots and protective gear and a great workplace culture.

Of course working for Crown means that you’ll have more than just a job; you’ll be part of something much larger. Starting a career as a service technician will immediately give you opportunities to progress within Crown’s comprehensive service network, with many doors opening for you in Australia and even around the world. You might want to move on to become a crown field service supervisor, area manager or a customer service sales representative, or you could even be promoted to national accounts service manager, operations manager or branch manager.

No matter how you look at it, becoming a Crown service technician certainly has its benefits.
