Subaru Australia expands Supercars commitment

Subaru Australia has expanded its partnership with the Repco Supercars Championship.

Entering its third year with Supercars, Subaru will become the exclusive supplier of all on-track support vehicles for the 2026 and 2027 championship seasons — a significant expansion of its existing role as Official Course Car Vehicle.

Expanded on-track responsibilities

From 2026, Subaru will also assume Official Safety Car and Official Medical Vehicle duties across the Supercars calendar.

The Subaru WRX AWD tS Spec B will serve as both the Shannons Safety Car and Shannons Course Car, while the all-new Subaru Outback Wilderness will operate as the Shannons Medical Car.

The expanded fleet highlights Subaru’s dual focus on performance capability and practical durability in high-pressure environments where precision and reliability are critical to race operations.

Subaru Australia Head of Brand Trent Whitechurch said the partnership continues to evolve in a way that aligns closely with the brand.

“This partnership continues to evolve in a way that feels authentic to Subaru. Expanding our role within Supercars allows us to contribute meaningfully to the championship, particularly in areas where safety and reliability are paramount. As we enter our third year with Supercars, we’re proud to be deepening our involvement and connecting with fans at events across the 2026 season and beyond.”

Supporting safe, high-performance racing

Supercars Chief Revenue Officer Jamie Black said Subaru’s expanded involvement strengthens the championship’s operational framework.

“Subaru’s expanded involvement in 2026, combined with Shannons Insurance supporting our refreshed Safety Car program, strengthens a partnership that plays a vital role in delivering safe and exciting racing,” Black said.

“With the on-track action as wild as ever, it’s essential that our Safety, Course and Medical vehicles are ready for anything throughout the 2026 season. We’re thrilled to have Subaru step into the full suite of vehicles and can’t wait to see the new WRX AWD tS Spec B and Outback Wilderness on track in Sydney.”

Engaging fans beyond the track

Subaru’s expanded motorsport involvement will also include fan-focused activations, hospitality experiences and vehicle displays across selected Supercars rounds and at Phillip Island.

Exclusive experiences — including vehicle walk-throughs, hot laps and interactive brand activities — are designed to demonstrate how Subaru’s motorsport engagement translates into real-world capability.

The renewed partnerships reinforce Subaru Australia’s long-standing commitment to Australian motorsport, underscoring the brand’s belief that vehicles proven in high-pressure environments help deliver confidence for drivers everywhere.
