“I couldn’t ask for a better way to start a championship, with two race wins and leading the championship for the first time,” Sweeny said.
“It’s my second round victory in a row.”

Sweeny – TCR Australia‘s 2022 rookie of the year – will take the win and establish himself as a hot favourite for the overall season.
“We showed last year that the momentum was building from the middle of the season, which we’ve put into effect right from the start this year,” he said.
“Hopefully we can continue to be among the front runners at Phillip Island and be consistent to stay on top of the ladder.”

The second round of the TCR Australia Championship will be at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit from May 12.
