The Ford Ranger unseating Toyota’s Hi-Lux and the Tesla Model 3 were some of many surprises January’s vehicle sales numbers.
The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries registered 84,873 vehicles sold and delivered across Australia in the opening month of 2023 – an increase of 11.9 per cent from the same time last year.
About 4700 Rangers were sold in January, followed by 4100 Hi-Luxes. The Tesla Model 3 became the first pure battery electric vehicle to break the top three, with 2900 sold.
