Tool Test: JBS seven-draw trolley

Keeping track of tools and accessories can be a challenging task. Having a dedicated home inside the tool trolley is the best way to know where tools are at any given time. With that in mind, the team at JBS has developed a tough and well thought out range of tool trollies which exceed even the most demanding mechanic’s requirements.

The JBS seven-draw tool trolley with ball-bearing slides is smooth to use and packed with features to add quality and functionality. The action of the drawers is awesome, and you can feel the quality build and materials used in construction. The protective top mat will stop tools sliding around and scratching both the tool trolley and the tools themselves, while the heavy-duty tubular side handle can be fitted at either end.
In the wheel department there are two fixed wheels and two castors with brakes for secure and easy placement.

Flexible configuration

All drawers have been fitted with a drawer liner and are ready to be fitted with JBS ModPak modular tool sets.
The options for a well-organised and efficient storage system are endless with Modpaks, available in 1/6-tray, 1/3-tray and 2/3-tray sizes.
The grey powder-coated paint job looks tough and will be at home in any workshop, and, in the seven-draw configuration, weighs in at 65kg.
A central-locking mechanism with cabinet lock and two keys is an important addition for added security and safety, and was a definite high point for mechanic Ryan Vidal from RMV Mechanical in Penrith, NSW.

A pro in the know

Ryan thoughts on the JBS tool trolley were fairly straightforward. “You can feel the quality of both the materials and construction,” he said.
“The smoothness of the opening of the drawers on a product like this is important, and JBS has done a great job on that front, too. It’s an impressive looking tool trolley, and that first impression holds true when you explore the functionality and usability”.

Ryan continued, “Tools always seem to go missing when they don’t have a dedicated home. Ensuring all tools go back into their right draws and place in the draw is extremely important for a well-organised workshop. The JBS ModPaks do a great job at arranging into the JBS Tool Trolley, thanks to the various possible configurations.
“Being powder coated in grey looks the goods, but also shows the quality of the stylish finish. I noticed the drawer slides have a rolled edge which provides extra strength and rigidity to the drawers, which will in turn extend the lifespan of the JBS products.”

The functionality of the handle and castor wheels allows easy manoeuvring of the trolley, and the storage options, with the peg hooks and basket on the sides, make for great placement of commonly used items.

The wrap up

The functionality of the castor wheels and moveable handle allow easy manoeuvring of the trolley and make for totally practical and professional set up with the storage options. The JBS T77BSS-STD Tool Trolley with Ball Bearing Slides has ticked all the boxes with its great design and build quality, and the soft-close draws are a great final touch.
To finish things off, the option of using either the soft rubber mat or stainless-steel bench top makes for very flexible use.
