Workplace Health and Safety

With Safety In Mind

The new Automotive Mechanics Guide to Workplace Safety 2019/20 has been released.

Pro-Visual Publishing in conjunction with the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers (IAME), the Australian Autoglass Industry Alliance (AAIA) and the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Australasia (ATRA) has released their latest edition of the Augmented Reality (AR) Automotive Mechanics Guide to Workplace Safety 2019/20, distributed free of charge Australia wide.

The wall-mountable printed Guide is to be displayed in a place where mechanics can have easy access on a regular basis. Implementing safety in the Automotive Industry is critical to the health, safety and wellbeing of mechanics. Incidents in the workshop causing severe injury or even fatality can and do happen, therefore it is important to ensure mechanics are trained and knowledgeable on essential safety procedures.

Together Pro-Visual Publishing and the partnering Associations have carefully selected topics that address issues pertinent to the industry in regards to health and safety, which include:

  • The GHS and chemical storage
  • Slips, trips and falls
  • Hoists safety service requirements
  • Automotive workshop inspection checklist

As mentioned, the Guide features AR, a digitised feature aimed at enhancing engagement and offers an aspect of interactivity. By simply downloading the free Pro-Vis AR app and scanning over any AR capable content, mechanics can access further safety information straight to their smart device, for example, videos and PDF files.

“I would like to thank all the sponsors of the Automotive Mechanics Guide to Workplace Safety 2019/20. Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge,” said John Hutchings, CEO of Pro-Visual Publishing.
