Mechanic and technician apprentices were able to flex their muscles at the WorldSkills National Championships in August.
The CoolDrive Auto Parts-supported event had young-guns from across Australia showcase their talents in various competitions. For mechanics, this included Auto Electrical, Auto Mechanic (Light and Heavy Vehicle) and Motorcycle Mechanic categories.

CoolDrive sponsored those categories, and Technical Training team member Clint Flower served as a judge in the Auto Mechanic competition. He also helped mentor participants from NSW.
“At CoolDrive, we are dedicated to fostering skills excellence and innovation within the automotive industry, and events such as WorldSkills provide the perfect opportunity for us to nurture the next generation of automotive professionals,” CoolDrive Auto Parts Training and Development General Manager Scott Williamson said.
“These young talents are the future of our industry, and through these sorts of partnerships CoolDrive aims to inspire, mentor, and collaborate with these bright minds to drive progress.
“The 2023 WorldSkills National Championships was a fantastic event, and we would like to express our admiration for all those who competed – well done to you all.”
