ZF Services Australia’s expansion of the new SACHS MAX range of heavy duty shock absorbers by more than 25 per cent in the past six months is just one example of the company’s ongoing commitment to the Australian automotive aftermarket.
Developed specifically for off-road, four-wheel-drive and utility vehicles, the big-bore SACHS MAX shocks were launched to support customer demand for high-quality, high-performing SACHS products in this segment.
As a result, sales have more than tripled year-to-date, making it one of the most successful new product launches in ZF’s local history.
Suitable for standard or raised suspensions, the SACHS MAX shock absorber is designed around a larger cylinder barrel which incorporates bigger, more durable internal components and a great fluid volume, for increased tolerance to heat.
The increased bore size also results in reduced friction-generated heat and improved shocker consistency under repeated loads.
All of this, along with internal valving designed to optimise damping characteristics, promotes a more comfortable ride and safer, more predictable handling.
As a result, the SACHS MAX range has sold strongly across its three intended market sectors: four-wheel-drivers, trade workers and caravanners.
“Australia’s automotive landscape has changed and 4x4s and large utilities are no longer just the domain of farmers or tradies,” Darren Leyshon, Head of IAM Oceania at ZF Services Australia said.
“These vehicles, including SUVs or utes, are now widely used for everyday transport be it work or family, and recreation on weekends. Therefore, we knew there would be plenty of demand for a product like SACHS MAX.
“For those who want to change-up the handling and ride performance of their vehicle, adapt it for towing or to handle heavy loads, or enhance its capabilities off-road, SACHS MAX shocks offer a premium product from a well-respected and quality brand.”
SACHS MAX’s eye-catching and distinctive blue-and-white packing graphics have also played a part in range’s successful launch, offering ease of identification and greater consumer appeal.
Suitable for some of the most popular models on the local market including the Ford Ranger, Toyota HiLux, Nissan Navara and Isuzu D-Max, the SACHS MAX range now boasts more than 67 fitments, with more to come.
“More than 30 years in the Australian market has given ZF Services a thorough understanding of what customers are looking for and what the local conditions demands, and we tailor our product range to suit,” Darren Leyshon explained.
“That was the motivation behind SACHS MAX originally and its success has driven a rapid expansion of the range.
“It’s a great example of ZF’s ongoing commitment to the Australian market, of which we’re very proud.”
Following its success in the Australian market, the SACHS MAX range will soon be introduced into new regions including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and other south-east Asian markets.
ZF Services Australia has been an automotive aftermarket supplier to the local industry for more than three decades, with its extensive range including components for driveline, chassis, steering and braking from its four primary brands: ZF, LEMFÖRDER, SACHS and TRW.
